Who we are
electricians.pt is the controller of the personal data processed through the site. Contact for privacy questions: filipe.durao.sales@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Clients: name, email, mobile and WhatsApp number, area and address (and the address's map coordinates, for the electrician's map), the job description, photos, budget and availability, messages, quotes received and reviews; your NIF, if you give it for the invoice; for urgent requests, the expected arrival time and the reason for a cancellation; favourite electricians; your invitation code.
- When you post a job or an urgent request without an account, we create one for you with that email, so you can follow the request.
- Electricians: profile details (including prices, areas, insurance, invoicing and DGEG registration number), tax details for DAC7 (NIF, date of birth and tax address), availability, credit and payment history, urgent-job response statistics and automatic pauses, and the English check data.
- Data electricians record on electricians.pt about their own clients (clients added by hand, jobs, private notes and tags). Here electricians.pt processes the data on the electrician's behalf.
- Gift vouchers: the buyer's name and email, and the recipient's name, email and message.
- Technical data: access logs, your phone or browser notification subscription if you switch it on, and the cookies and local storage described below.
Why, and on what basis
- To run the marketplace: posting jobs, showing them to electricians, exchanging quotes and messages (performance of a contract).
- To vet electricians, prevent fraud and keep the site safe (legitimate interest).
- To invoice credits and meet tax obligations (legal obligation).
- To send news, only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who sees your data
- Your job (problem, photos, area and urgency) is seen by vetted electricians who cover your area and that type of work.
- Your first name: the electricians who take your job, at most 3. Your phone and email: only the electricians you reply to or whose quote you accept.
- Your full address: only the electrician whose quote you accept, the electrician of a direct request, or the electrician who accepts your urgent request.
- Each electrician who receives your details becomes responsible for how they use them for your job.
- Electrician profiles and reviews are public.
- Service providers who help us, under contract and only for that purpose: hosting, email delivery, credit payments, and browser or phone notification services (Google, Mozilla, Apple), which receive encrypted notifications.
- OpenStreetMap: the job address is turned into map coordinates by the Nominatim service, and the electrician's map loads map images from OpenStreetMap servers.
- Jitsi (meet.jit.si), when an electrician chooses to do the English check by call.
- Partners, only when you ask us to put you in touch with them.
- The electricians.pt team may read messages to handle complaints and prevent fraud.
- Authorities where the law requires it, including the Portuguese tax authority (DAC7 reporting about electricians).
We do not sell personal data.
How long we keep it
- Account and profile: while active; deleted when you ask or delete your account.
- Job photos: deleted 90 days after the job ends (booked, done, closed or expired).
- Jobs, quotes and messages: while your account exists, for reference and to handle complaints.
- Credit and payment records: for as long as tax law requires, without personal notes after an erasure request.
- An area's waiting list: until we have told you, or 12 months.
English check interviews (electricians)
- Why: to confirm the spoken English level we show on the profile, which decides who receives English-language jobs (legitimate interest; we also ask your permission before recording).
- What we keep: the recordings of the answers, the written reply (with how long it took to type and the number of keystrokes and pastes), the date of consent and the level given.
- Who listens: only the electricians.pt team. Recordings are kept in a private folder; they are never public or shared.
- How long: recordings are deleted 30 days after the decision; the level and the team's note stay while the profile exists.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data, and object to processing based on legitimate interest.
You can delete your account in your settings or write to filipe.durao.sales@gmail.com. If you think we have not respected your rights, you can complain to the CNPD, the Portuguese data protection authority (cnpd.pt).
Cookies and local storage
We only use what the site needs to work: the cookies that keep you signed in; the invitation cookie (30 days), only if you accept an invitation from an electrician; and, in your browser, map and client-list preferences, whether you have closed a notice, and the app's offline copy. We do not use advertising cookies.
Security and transfers
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. Our providers process data in the European Union or with the appropriate safeguards required by the GDPR.
If anything here is unclear, write to us before using the site.
